December 17th: We took the vocabulary words from last class's article and resorted them using different categories. We explained our thinking using some sentence frames. We tried to look at our ClassNotebook in OneNote and on Teams but had some technical difficulty.

December 13th (Flex): We categorized some vocabulary words that will help us understand an article. We made a prediction about the content of the article and read the article.

December 9th: We continued our discussion about taking the bus and the "unwritten rules". We looked at what a "Reader's Response" and how it is different than an informational paragraph. We started brainstorming to organize our ideas. Some students may have started their writing.

November 27 (Tutorial): We continued our discussion about the organization of the Snowboarding paragraph and worked on our outlines.

November 25: Because many people are still struggling with paragraph organization, we worked on the parts of the paragraph and discussed how each point should be clearly separate from the others. We also worked with two deconstructed paragraphs to reassemble them to make sense - We discussed one (about school) but did not yet agree on the second (Snowboarding).

November 20 (Tutorial): Today we gave feedback to each other on how to improve our paragraphs. I demonstrated how you can take notes from a video and how you could organize your notes. We then started a paragraph outline.

November 18: Today we played "Stop the Bus" to wake up a bit. Then we looked at the paragraphs we wrote in class to give feedback to each other on how to improve.

October 17th (Flex): Today we continued our discussion about Government in Canada (the levels of government) and learned about the 4 main Political Parties for the Federal Government. We also brainstormed problems in Canada and possible solutions to these problems.

October 15th: Today, we started discussing how government works in Canada in light of the upcoming election. We looked at types of government and also learned how to sign up on Teams. October 4th : Today we made posters to describe/show places that people should definitely visit from our home cities/countries.

October 2nd : Today we brainstormed adjectives and phrases that would help us describe Burnaby North. We then co-created a review of Burnaby North and compared a Level 1 sample and a Level 2 sample.

September 30th : Today we sorted slips of paper to see if we knew how a review would be organized. We then looked at the language features of a review. We underlined and identified the parts of a review.
